Advancing maternal and infant wellbeing through care access in public spaces.
The Nursing Nest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving families across Central Ohio.
We partner with events, venues and community organizations to create dedicated infant care and breastfeeding access areas for families with babies.
Our current work brings maternal and infant care access to community events. These staffed areas give mothers, parents and caregivers a calmer place to care for their babies with dignity and support.
By reducing barriers in public spaces, The Nursing Nest helps families stay connected to the places where they gather and celebrate.
Help Expand Infant Care Access
The Nursing Nest is working to make community events more accessible for families with infants across Central Ohio. Whether you attend an event, invite us to your community or support the program financially, you can help more families stay connected to the places where their communities gather.
What We Do
Community Access
Helping families stay connected to public spaces during the infant care season.
Infant Care Access
Providing a calm, dedicated area where families can care for their babies during events.
Family Support
Creating a welcoming environment for feeding, pumping, diapering, and soothing.
All Families Are Welcome
We support mothers, parents, caregivers, and babies.
Families are welcome no matter how they feed their baby or who is providing care.
The Nursing Nest helps make public spaces more accessible for families during the infant care season.
Why It Matters
Families attending public events often need more than a restroom or quiet corner to care for their babies.
When dedicated breastfeeding and infant care access areas are not available, parents may shorten their visit or skip events altogether. They may also experience added stress while trying to meet their baby’s needs without appropriate seating, visual separation or support. During the postpartum and infant care season, these barriers can contribute to overwhelm and isolation.
The Nursing Nest exists because maternal mental health and family connection matter. By expanding infant care access at community events, we help create more supportive environments where families with infants can participate with comfort, dignity and connection.
